Thoughts From a Failed Poet (Part 1)
Hey there long haired hippie,
With that stench up on your clothes!
With that blue vest hiding your chest.
Is this the best work you can compose?
Ovid boasted some love pro’s,
Some con’s, some similes.
Homer wrote of the greatest war
And the sad Trojan defeat.
Virgil's poem gave the Romans
Their long sought winnings.
Dante's Inferno made the eternal
A shocking reality.
But you, my little Lord Byron,
a slave all his days, dreams he's a tyrant.
